Leo J. Sullivan, III was born August 16, 1934 in St. Louis, MO. He was admitted to practice in Illinois and Missouri in 1958, after graduating from the St. Louis University School of Law. Following graduation, he spent 3-1/2 years in the U.S. Navy as a JAG officer at USNS Kodiak, Alaska and USNTC, Great Lakes, Illinois.
In 1962 he joined the firm of Snyder, Clarke, Dalziel, Holmquist and Johnson in Waukegan, Lake County, Illinois as a trial lawyer. After achieving partnership, he started his own law practice in 1968 in Waukegan and has continued in practice ever since. He has tried and argued cases at every judicial level from the trial court through the Illinois and the U.S. Supreme Courts.
Leo is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, having been a two-term (1984-85) member of the ISBA Assembly. A past present of the Lake County Bar Association, he has been or is still currently a member of the Defense Research Institute, American Bar Association, Appellate Lawyers Association, and Jefferson Inn, of the Inns of Court. A member of the Board of Directors of the ISBA Mutual Insurance Company, he is co-chairman of the Claims Committee. Presently, he has limited his practice to litigated files, insurance defense, commercial disputes, condominium cases and special personal injury cases.
